What is Open Doors at CVVL?

The Open Doors program at CVVL is a place of hope for young adults aged 16 to 21 wanting to earn their high school diploma or GED.

  • High School Diploma Pathway: Students work towards their diploma while taking online courses at CVVL through the APEX Learning system. Each course the student completes earns them .5 credits toward graduation.

    • Open Doors at CVVL is a fully virtual high school.
    • Open Doors students are expected to complete two-courses every six week session. There are three sessions per semester.
    • Open Doors students are required to attend a minimum of 2-hours of in-person meet ups at the CVVL campus monthly.
    • Students are provided an interactive learning experience with courses designed in APEX Learning.
    • Each course completed with a "D" or better earns the student .5 credit toward graduation.
    • Students may participate in our daily in-person study sessions in-person or via Zoom.
    • Student support is also available by phone, email, or Remind Safe-text.
    • All students receive mentoring to help them monitor their progress toward success in CVVL courses.
    • CVVL Courses are NCAA approved.

  • GED Pathway: Located at the Next Generation Zone, this pathway focuses on students earning their GED and building college and work readiness skills, as well as exploring vocational options.

No matter which path they choose, Open Doors students have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
