This week our COVID numbers for both students and staff are at their highest level for the 2021-22 school year. We are monitoring both the number of cases and absences in our schools. If we have to close a school based on the total number of cases within a two-week period or staff shortages, we will give you as much advance notice as we are able.
Our goal is to continue offering in-person learning to the greatest extent possible. Our diligent testing and preventive measures help ensure this. We are prepared, however, if we need to move to virtual learning with Chromebook devices for every student. We believe that seeing our students each day — whether in person or virtually — is vitally important to their overall education and we are committed to doing everything we can to keep our students safe.
Please keep your child at home if they are not feeling well or showing symptoms of any type of illness. The Department of Health recently updated isolation and quarantine requirements, following recommendations from the CDC to reduce to 5 days (see requirements for full details). As a reminder, we have a test to stay protocol where students and staff with a negative test are able stay in school. Should you have any questions, please contact your school’s principal or your school’s COVID supervisor.
Thank you for doing your part in helping keep all of our students and staff safe and healthy. We will continue to keep you informed.
